FAQ

Frequently Asked Qustions
My candle doesn’t seem to be burning right, what should I do?

Make sure you are trimming your wick before EVERY burn. Your wick should be trimmed to 1/4 “ before each burn. Also, if your wick has any “mushrooming” (carbon build up), make sure to trim that off before each burn as well. If you allow the mushrooming to build up, it will create too large of a flame. A large flame will burn the wax faster, where a normal flame will burn the wax slower so your candle will last longer. A flame that is too large will also create excess soot.

My candle seems to have a frosted appearance to it, is something wrong?

No, all our candles are made with 100% Soy wax. Soy is a natural product. This is a common term for “polymorphism” and describes the white coating/frosty appearance. It is just the natural wax re-crystallizing. All soy waxes frost to some degree and is a sure sign that you are using 100% natural soy wax. It is more noticeable with colored candles. Some soy waxes have additives to help prevent frosting however, if you want a 100% natural product then expect some frosting sooner or later. Frosting does not affect the performance of your candle in any way.

How long should I burn my candle?

It is recommended that on the FIRST burn, you should burn for at least 2-3 hours or until the melt pool reaches the edge of the container. After that, you should only burn your candle 3-4 hours at a time.

Why isn’t my candle releasing a strong fragrance?

Some fragrances are stronger than others. Single wick candles work best in smaller rooms.

Why is my candle tunneling?

When a candle begins to tunnel, most likely the candle has not been burning long enough for the melted wax pool to reach edge to edge. On your first burn, make sure the melted wax reaches edge to edge (about 2-3 hours) This will allow all the wax to be used to the bottom of the jar.
