Candle Burning Tips
-
Keep candles away from drafts as this will shorten the burn time.
-
Keep candles away from flammable materials (curtains, bedspreads, gas, flammable liquid, etc.)
-
Never leave burning candles unattended.
-
Keep small children and pets away from burning candles.
-
The first burn is the most important!! The candle wax must pool to the edge on the initial burn. Your wax has sort of a memory. If your candle doesn’t burn to the edges, it will begin to tunnel and won’t burn evenly the next time.
-
Place candles on an even surface.
-
Keep the wick trimmed to ¼”. If any part of the wick falls off, remove that piece from the wax before relighting.
-
Tealights can float in water. Put some water in a decorative jar or bowl and place the tealight on top of the water. Doing this makes a beautiful, unique presentation.
-
Burning candles for more than four hours can cause the wick to form a mushroom or carbon deposit on the tip. This can create soot and smoke.
-
Candles beautify any room with colors and amazing fragrance. Enjoy them, but use them safely.
