My name is Colleen Victor and I am the owner of Ladle of Scents. I was born and raised In Cleveland, Ohio. Ten years ago, an opportunity arose for my husband and I to relocate to the small town of Rockledge, FL where we still reside today. Like many others, our life has had its upsides and downsides.

It was during one of those downsides that I found it necessary to bring in extra income. It was also equally important that I had to be extremely flexible with my availability. I pondered on this situation for quite some time and realized the only way around this situation was to work from home. I sat quietly and looked around my home trying to decide what to do.

As I was looking around, I kept noticing all the beautiful candles we have in our home. I have always loved candles! The light bulb in my head came on and I thought to myself why can’t you make your own candles? It was at that very moment that Ladle of Scents was born! Anyone who knows me personally, knows that I am a huge fan of natural, nontoxic, products. I read labels on everything because I want to know what is in the products I am purchasing. The first order of business was to investigate how to make clean, nontoxic candles that I, too, would feel comfortable using.

The next step was to choose the style that I wanted to portray. My husband and I love camping, fishing, log cabins and anything and everything that is rustic or country. Looking throughout our home, it was obvious that the rustic, country style that we love had to be reflected in our logo and our product line.

Now that the style and quality aspects have been selected, I am proud to announce that all our candles are made with 100% soy wax, eco-friendly wicks (no lead or zinc) and are hand poured in small batches right in our own kitchen! We use the maximum amount of fragrance oil allowed in each product, so our candles look great and smell amazing! Each of our glass jar candles are decorated with a splash of ribbon which makes them enjoyable to just display or great for gift giving. Our tealight candles come in a white ribboned bag that can be reused for a variety of things. They also make great little thank you gifts for that special teacher, graduate, nurse and so many more.

Ladle of Scents is a brand-new company just starting out, so our product line is relatively small. As the company grows, we will be expanding our product line and adding gift baskets to the mix. We hope you will give our products a try and grow with us on our journey!
